Laura Bacigalupo is partner of the Foreign Trade & Customs department at Bruchou.
In her daily practice at Bruchou she provides customs and international trade advice to both domestic and international clients.
She intervenes in the design and planning of foreign trade operations of the companies she advises, especially related to the agro-export, mining and hydrocarbon industry.
In her professional performance, she analyzes new businesses and opportunities, advises on particular regimes, matters related to promotion policies and intervenes in the resolution of legal issues (including litigation).
Prior to joining Bruchou in 2017, she worked at the law firm of BRSV Abogados from 2003 to 2017. There she was in charge of providing legal assistance and representation in litigation related to customs matters and foreign trade issues before the Argentine customs agency, the Nation’s Tax Court and the Judiciary.
From 2008 to 2017 was legal counsel of the Argentine Chamber of the Food Oil Industry (CIARA -Cámara de la Industria Aceitera de la República Argentina-) and the Center for Cereal Exporters (CEC -Centro de Exportadores de Cereales-).
he worked at the Argentine Ministry of the Economy, in the National Directorate of Taxes under the Technical Customs Valuation Area, before moving on to Ernst & Young, where she was part of the Tax Law Area from 2000 to 2002.
She has been a speaker at several foreign trade seminars and has written articles on customs matters for various specialized publications.
Laura is a member of the Argentine Institute of Customs Studies and the Bar Association of Capital Federal (Colegio Público de Abogados de la Capital Federal).
She actively participates in the Foreign Trade, Customs and Finance commission of the Chamber of Public Limited Companies
She obtained her law degree from the University of Buenos Aires in 1997. Her expertise is in the area of customs and, in particular, customs valuation.
